MIDJ | Our Idea

MIDJ | Our Idea

“Our catalog has been designed to be practical and complete during use, while being sustainable and environmentally conscious in its creation.”

“Design is a wonderful life.”

More than just a claim, this is a value model to draw inspiration from, encapsulating all the vitality of Midj: craftsmanship, creativity, and technology to create spaces to live in—authentic and luminous.

This destiny is rooted in the visionary DNA of Midj, which, even at its inception in 1987, looked beyond the everyday by transforming the spaces of an old chicken coop into its first headquarters, later evolving into the contemporary world of a design that is “soft, embracing with fluid lines, rounded corners, and cushioning designed for moments of happiness and comfort.”

Everything else is simply a declination of combinations and cross-functional environments in the form of chairs, tables, storage furniture, lighting, and accessories, created in collaboration with prestigious designers and with the aim of preserving all the “know-how” within the company.

Attention to every detail is a must.

From the choice of materials to their application: fabrics and leathers for upholstery; marble, veneers, and HPL for tabletops. Among all, one particular excellence stands out: leather, whose processing requires experience and meticulous craftsmanship, allowing Midj to fully express its production talent by creating weaves, meshes, and geometries that guarantee unique ergonomics and flexibility to its products.

This is thanks not only to the artisanal expertise of the production department but also to the “Workshop of Ideas” focused on developing new solutions and models. As Operations Director Rudy Vernier explains: “Incessant research and experimentation, sometimes outside the box, lead us to explore uncharted paths in an exciting journey filled with challenges, trials, errors, and successes.”

“For our catalog, we decided to use only one type of material: paper. The core of the box, the binder, and the drawers are made of recycled cardboard panels covered with neutral Havana-colored paper.”

Midj’s thoughtful vision is not limited to the commercial sphere but extends first and foremost to its internal relationships with employees and workers. To this end, the company has adopted a shared code of ethics to foster virtuous behaviors and processes, ensuring that corporate management aligns with socially relevant expectations and interests.

“Every day, our team,” concludes Rudy Vernier, “challenges each other to think creatively, to question themselves, and to improve the company’s progress and the uniqueness of our identity day after day—both in terms of work and pride of belonging.”
